Graniteville recycling plant to fully open at year’s end

April 21, 2014

Graniteville’s new Recleim, LLC electronics and appliance recycler will become fully operational by the end of the year, according to General Manager Doug Huffer.

While there is not a formal complete date as of now, reconstruction of the 110,000- to 111,000-square-foot facility is still ongoing. The e-waste recycling facility located in Graniteville’s historic Hickman Mill is Recleim’s flagship location, combing technologies from European companies to recycle devices like dryers, washers and refrigerators for public use.

Huffer said equipment from countries including Germany will be arriving this summer, and the hiring of all 200 employees should be complete sometime in 2015.

According to Recleim’s website, the facility is not currently soliciting resumes for specific positions, but expects to post additional positions in the near future and asks individuals to check the site frequently for updates.
