Autoneum expanding Aiken County operations

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Autoneum, a global market leader in acoustic and thermal management solutions for vehicles, is expanding its Aiken County operations. This project will result in more than $35 million in capital investment and lead to the creation of more than 40 new jobs.

As a partner for light vehicle manufacturers around the world, Autoneum develops and produces multifunctional and lightweight systems for noise and heat protection and thereby enhances vehicle comfort. Headquartered in Winterthur, Switzerland, the company is represented at around 50 locations in more than 20 countries, employing approximately 11,000 people across the world.

To meet increased customer demand, Autoneum is expanding its existing Aiken County facility to 315,000-square-feet. Located at 1103 Powderhouse Road in Aiken, S.C., the larger, world-class manufacturing facility will allow for the creation of 40 new jobs. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has awarded a $125,000 grant to Aiken County for road improvements to accommodate the project.
